2015 Course Description

Our courses take place in 2 hour sessions over 5 days. No experience neccessary!

  • Day 1

Students will start the class by getting accustomed to working in code with their robots. They will play a variety of games with the robots using code such as relay races, drawing pictures, etc. All of the activities will be done in teams to increase confidence and encourage communication skills.

  • Day 2

Students will focus on computational thinking by working together to create robot plays and dances. Students will also participate in kinesthetic team based activities to reinforce computational thinking.

  • Day 3

In day 3 students will focus on logical thinking and debugging code. They will create robots that use logical thinking to navigate mazes, as well as act out robotic tasks to reinforce their skills.

  • Day 4

Students, in small groups, will apply their learnings to tasks involving Artificial Intelligence. They will use their knowledge to have their robots take pictures and attempt to find objects in the room.

  • Day 5

On the last day of class students can choose to work in teams on a project of their choice! In the past students have created games, dances, plays, abstract art generators, and more!
